Beta Limits

The MCP Studio SDK is currently in beta. During this period, the SDK is free to integrate with generous usage limits.

Current Limits

End users of your embedded MCP Studio integration have access to the following resources, matching MCP Studio's free tier:

ResourceLimit
MCP servers per user10
Sources per server2
MCP calls per month50
SDK integrations per developerUnlimited
Widget configurationsUnlimited

What Counts as an MCP Call?

An MCP call is a single request from an AI agent (Cursor, Claude Desktop, Windsurf, etc.) to an MCP server endpoint. Each tool invocation — for example, searching docs, extracting code, or asking a question — counts as one call.

Source Limits

Each MCP server created by your end users can connect up to 2 sources. Sources include websites, GitHub repos, documentation sites, API endpoints, or other MCP servers. The same source guidelines from MCP Studio apply:

  • Large websites (1,000+ pages) may be partially crawled
  • Private GitHub repos require authentication from the end user
  • Source content is periodically refreshed

What Happens When Limits Are Reached

  • Server limit: Users see a message that they've reached the maximum number of servers and can delete existing ones to create new ones.
  • Source limit: The "Add Source" option is disabled after 2 sources are added to a server.
  • Call limit: MCP calls return a rate-limit error after 50 calls in a calendar month. The counter resets on the 1st of each month.

Future Pricing

After the beta period ends, pricing will be introduced to unlock expanded limits. The following is planned:

  • Free tier remains — the current beta limits will continue to be available at no cost
  • Expanded source packs — allow end users to add more sources per server
  • Call packs — higher MCP call limits for production workloads
  • Developer dashboard — usage analytics, end-user management, and billing controls
info

Beta users will receive advance notice before any pricing changes take effect. Existing integrations will continue working during and after the transition.
